Frederick Reginald Ironside (born 12 February 1950 in Toronto, Ontario, Canada), known as Michael Ironside, is a Canadian actor, producer, director, and screenwriter. I know him best for his roles in Scanners (1981), Top Gun (1986), Extreme Prejudice (1987), Total Recall (1990), Highlander II: The Quickening (1991), and Starship Troopers (1997).
Michael Ironside appeared at London Comic Con Winter in November 2022 where he signed a
Top Gun 8x10 and my
Top Gun Soundtrack record sleeve (also signed by
James Tolkan in Edinburgh in October). I had pre-ordered the signed photo through the Showmasters send-in service. The record sleeve I had sent to Woody's Memorabilia to be signed at the same convention, since I do not really trust the Showmasters service anymore when it comes to sending in my own items. I met Michael for the first time at Comic Con Scotland Aberdeen in March 2026.
