James Tolkan

James Stewart Tolkan (born 20 June 1931 in Calumet, Michigan, USA; died 26 March 2026 in Saranac Lake, New York, USA) was an American actor. I knew him best for his roles as Mr. Strickland in Back to the Future (1985), Back to the Future Part II (1989) and Back to the Future Part III (1990), Stinger in Top Gun (1986), Detective Lubic in Masters of the Universe (1987) and Numbers in Dick Tracy (1990).

I purchased Mr Tolkan's autograph on a Masters of the Universe 8x10 from RACC Trusted Seller #108 Ilya Zeta in December 2021. I finally got to meet him on 8 October 2022 at Comic Con Scotland where he signed my Top Gun soundtrack record sleeve and a Back to the Future 8x10. Two months later I purchased a Top Gun 8x10 from Celebrity Ink Autographs (RACC Trusted Seller #184).
