Sergio Martino (born 19 July 1938 in Rome, Italy) is an Italian film director and producer, notable for his contributions to the giallo genre. Martino is the brother of the late producer Luciano Martino (who died in 2013). They collaborated frequently in their respective professions. Their grandfather was director Gennaro Righelli.
I know him best for genre films such as The Strange Vice of Mrs Wardh (1971), The Case of the Scorpion's Tale (1971), All the Colours of the Dark (1972), Your Vice is a Locked Room and Only I Have the Key (1972), Torso (1973), The Violent Professionals (1973), Silent Action (1975), The Suspicious Death of a Minor (1975), The Slave of the Cannibal God (1978), The Great Alligator (1979), 2019: After the Fall of New York (1983), and Hands of Steel (1986).
I met Mr Martino at the Weird Worcester convention in June 2025.
