Ruggero Deodato

Ruggero Deodato (born 7 May 1939 in Potenza, Basilicata, Italy; died 29 December 2022 in Rome Italy) was an Italian film director and screenwriter, who is probably best know for the brutal horror film Cannibal Holocaust (1980). However, his career spanned a wide range of other genres including peplum, comedy, drama, poliziottesco, and science fiction. Other notable films include Live Like a Cop, Die Like a Man (1976), Last Cannibal World (1977), The House on the Edge of the Park (1980), Cut And Run (1984), and The Barbarians (1987).

Ruggero signed the Cannibal Holocaust Blu-Ray sleeve for me when he appeared at London Film & Comic Con in July 2019 (I was not able to attend this event but used the Showmasters pre-order service).

Francesca Ciardi

Francesca Ciardi (born 26 July 1954 in Rome, Italy) is an Italian film actress. She is best known for her role as Faye in Ruggero Deodato's notorious horror film Cannibal Holocaust (1980).

Francesca signed the Blu-ray sleeve for me when she appeared at London Film & Comic Con in July 2019 (I was not able to attend this event but used the Showmasters pre-order service). I purchased the signed photo from Showmasters during one of their Facebook sales in November 2020.

I finally met Francesca in person at the Weird Worcester convention in June 2025. There she signed a Spanish DVD cover for me.

Me Me Lai

Me Me Lai (born 3 November 1951), sometimes billed as Me Me Lay, is a Burmese-British actress and television host who worked mainly in British and Italian films, most notably in the horror genre.

I know her best for her striking roles in a number of Italian cannibal-themed exploitation films: Umberto Lenzi's Man from Deep River (1972), Ruggero Deodato's Last Cannibal World (1977) and Lenzi's Eaten Alive! (1980).

I purchased Me Me's autograph from a Showmasters Facebook sale in September 2020. The photo, a copy of a German Eaten Alive! lobby card, was signed when Me Me made an appearance at London Film & Comic Con in July 2019.
