Rutger Hauer

Rutger Oelsen Hauer (born 23 January 1944 in Breukelen, Netherlands; died 19 July 2019 in Beetsterzwaag, Netherlands) was a Dutch actor. In 1999, he was named by the Dutch public as the Best Dutch Actor of the Century.

Hauer's career began in 1969 with the title role in the Paul Verhoeven directed Dutch television series Floris. He then had leading roles in four of Verhoeven's very successful Dutch films: Turkish Delight (1973), Katie Tippel (1975), Soldier of Orange (1977) and Spetters (1980). Hauer then moved into American films such as Nighthawks (1981) and Blade Runner (1982). Later films include Osterman Weekend (1983), Ladyhawke (1985), Flesh+Blood (1985), The Hitcher (1986), Wanted: Dear or Alive (1987), The Legend of the Holy Drinker (1988), Blind Fury (1989), Bloodhounds of Broadway (1989), Surviving the Game (1994), Bone Daddy (1998), Sin City (2005), Batman Begins (2005), Hobo with a Shotgun (2011) and Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets (2017).

Carl Weathers

Carl Weathers (born 14 January 1948 in New Orleans, Louisiana, USA; died 1 February 2024 in Los Angeles, California, USA) was an American actor and former professional football player.

He was best known for portraying Apollo Creed in the first four Rocky films (1976-85), Al Dillon in Predator (1987), Jericho "Action" Jackson in Action Jackson (1988), Chubbs Peterson in Happy Gilmore (1996) and Little Nicky (2000) and a fictionalized version of himself in the comedy series Arrested Development (2004-13). He had a recurring role as Greef Karga in the Star Wars-spinoff series, The Mandalorian (2019-23). As a football player, Weathers played for the Oakland Raiders of the National Football League and the B.C. Lions of the Canadian Football League.

I met Carl at Collectormania London in November 2010, at Film & Comic Con Newcastle in March 2014 and at London Film & Comic Con in July 2016.

Keith David

Keith David Williams (born 4 June 1956 in Harlem, New York City, New York, USA) is an American actor, voice actor, comedian and singer. He is known for his co-starring role as King in Platoon (1986) and as Childs in The Thing (1982).

He has acted in many other films such as Men at Work (1990), There's Something About Mary (1998), Barbershop (2002), Crash (2004), Pitch Black (2000), The Chronicles of Riddick (2004) and two of my favourite films: John Carpenter's They Live (1988) and Marked for Death (1990) starring Steven Seagal.

I met Keith at London Film & Comic Con in July 2016.

Tobin Bell

Tobin Bell (born Joseph Henry Tobin Jr.; 7 August 1942 in New York City, New York, USA) is an American actor. He is best known for his portrayal of John Kramer / Jigsaw in the eight films of the Saw franchise. After years of work doing stand-ins and background work on films, he got his first major acting job in Mississippi Burning (1988) and went on to star in made-for-television films and guest star in television shows throughout the 1990s.

Before his breakthrough with Saw, Bell appeared in many notable films, including The Verdict (1982), Tootsie (1982), Mississippi Burning (1988), False Identity (1990), Loose Cannons (1990), Goodfellas (1990), Ruby (1992), The Firm (1993), In the Line of Fire (1993), Malice (1993), The Quick and the Dead (1995) and Brown's Requiem (1998).

I met Tobin at London Film & Comic Con in July 2016.

Julian Sands

Julian Richard Morley Sands (born 4 January 1958 in Otley, England; died c. 13 January 2023 in San Gabriel Mountains, Mount Baldy, California, USA) was an English actor known for his roles in films such as The Killing Fields (1984), A Room with a View (1985), Warlock (1989), Arachnophobia (1990), Naked Lunch (1991), Boxing Helena (1993), Leaving Las Vegas (1995), The Medallion (2003), Ocean's Thirteen (2007) and The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo (2011). On television, he portrayed Vladimir Bierko in 24 (2006), Jor-El in Smallville (2009–10) and voiced Valmont in Jackie Chan Adventures (2000–02).

Mads Mikkelsen

Mads Dittmann Mikkelsen (born 22 November 1965 in Copenhagen, Denmark) is a Danish actor who achieved worldwide recognition for playing the main antagonist Le Chiffre in the twenty-first James Bond film, Casino Royale (2006). He also starred in the television series Hannibal (2013–15) as Dr. Hannibal Lecter. In 2016, Mikkelsen portrayed Kaecilius in Marvel's film Doctor Strange and Galen Erso in Lucasfilm's Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. I met Mads at Film & Comic Con London in 2016.

Rex Smith

Rex Smith (born 19 September 1955 in Jacksonville, Florida, USA) is an American actor and singer. Rex made his acting debut in the Broadway play Grease in 1978. He is noted for his role as Jesse Mach in the 1985 television series Street Hawk and being the first actor to play the Marvel Comics superhero Daredevil in live action. I first met Rex at Film & Comic Con London in 2016 and then saw him at Comic Con Scotland in Edinburgh in November 2018.

Kjell Nilsson

Kjell Nilsson (born 19 December 1949 in Gothenburg, Sweden) is a Swedish olympic-class weight lifter and actor. His best known role is his 1981 portrayal of "The Humungus", the leader of the marauding wasteland gang in Mad Max 2. I met Kjell at the 2016 edition of the London Film & Comic Con.

Dolph Lundgren

Hans "Dolph" Lundgren (born 3 November 1957 in SpĂ„nga, Sweden) is a Swedish actor, director, screenwriter, producer, and martial artist. Lundgren became famous as Ivan Drago, the villain in Rocky IV, one of my favourite films. He then portrayed He-Man in the 1987 film Masters of the Universe. Other notable films are Red Scorpion (1988), The Punisher (1989), Dark Angel (also known as I Come in Peace) (1990), Cover-Up (1991), Showdown in Little Tokyo (1991), Universal Soldier (1992), Pentathlon (1994), Men of War (1994), Johnny Mnemonic (1995) and the Expendables trilogy (2010-2014).

I met Dolph at London Film & Comic Con in 2016 where he signed the Rocky IV press photo and poster below. The signed colour photo with the red background was purchased from a dealer at Collectormania Glasgow a few years prior.
