Nancy Allen

Nancy Anne Allen (born 24 June 1950 in The Bronx, New York City, New York, USA) is a retired American actress. She came to prominence for her performances in several films directed by Brian De Palma (whom she was married to from 1979 to 1984) in the 1970s and early 1980s.

Her first major role was in Brian De Palma's Stephen King adaptation of Carrie (1976). Allen was subsequently cast as the lead in the Robert Zemeckis-directed comedy I Wanna Hold Your Hand (1978), followed by a supporting part in Steven Spielberg's 1941 (1979). She then appeared in De Palma's Dressed to Kill (1980), which earned her a Golden Globe nomination for New Star of the Year. Other films include film Blow Out (1981), Strange Invaders (1983) and The Philadelphia Experiment (1984).

I know her best as Anne Lewis in Paul Verhoeven's RoboCop (1987), a role she reprised for the two sequels that followed. The following year she appeared in Poltergeist III (1988).

I purchased Nancy's autograph from a Showmasters Facebook sale in December 2020.
