"Weird Al" Yankovic

Alfred Matthew "Weird Al" Yankovic (born 23 October 23 1959 in Downey, California, USA) is an American comedy musician, writer, and actor. He is best known for writing and performing comedy songs that often parody specific songs by contemporary musicians. He also performs original songs that are style pastiches of the work of other acts, as well as polka medleys of several popular songs, most of which feature his trademark accordion.

So far Al has released fourteen studio albums. He also starred in the 1989 film UHF and had minor roles and cameos in various other films such as The Naked Gun: From the Files of Police Squad! (1987) and its two sequels (1991 and 1994), Spy Hard (1996), and Bill & Ted Face the Music (2020).

Al signed a CD cover for me after his concert at the O2 ABC in Glasgow on 9 October 2015.

Jermaine Jackson

Jermaine La Juane Jackson (born 11 December 1954 in Gary, Indiana, USA) is an American singer, and a member of the Jackson family. From 1964 to 1975, Jermaine was second vocalist after his brother Michael of The Jackson 5, and played bass guitar. In 1983 he rejoined the group, now known as The Jacksons. When I was young, I really liked his duet with Pia Zodara, "When the Rain Begins to Fall" (1984) as well his contribution to the Beverly Hills Cop II (1987) soundtrack, "All Revved Up", which was produced by Giorgio Moroder. In the last few years I have discovered and come to appreciate his solo albums, particularly those from the 1980s.

The photo with the full signature was purchased from the official Jacksons website in October 2021. The signed CD boxset I bought from the same site in July 2022. I bought the signed group photo at a Jacksons concert in Glasgow in July 2017.

Limahl

Christopher Hamill (born 19 December 1958 in Pemberton, Wigan, Lancashire, England), known professionally as Limahl (an anagram of Hamill), is an English pop singer. He was the lead singer of the pop group Kajagoogoo beginning in 1981, before embarking on a brief solo career, garnering the 1984 hit "The NeverEnding Story", the theme song for the film of the same name.

Limahl appeared at the 80s vs 90s Indoor Festival in Manchester on 29th January 2022. Monopoly Events, who were the organisers of this concert, also arranged private signings with all perfomers and this is when Limahl signed my The NeverEnding Story soundtrack CD cover.

Sammy Hagar

Samuel Roy Hagar (born 13 October 1947 in Salina, California, USA) is an American singer-songwriter, musician, and entrepreneur. Hagar came to prominence in the 1970s with the hard rock band Montrose. He then launched a successful solo career and enjoyed further commercial success when he replaced David Lee Roth as the lead singer of Van Halen in 1985, but left in 1996. He returned to the band from 2003 to 2005. On March 12, 2007, Hagar was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a member of Van Halen. His musical style primarily consists of hard rock, heavy metal, and glam metal.

Sammy Hagar performed 'Winner Takes It All' on the Over the Top (1987) soundtrack and I had been looking for an Over the Top related item signed by Sammy for a while. I purchased a signed 7" record sleeve from a seller in the RACC Facebook group. According to the seller he personally received this signature from Sammy when he was the opening act for an Aerosmith concert in the Detroit area, 'probably around 2012 or 2013', although I was able to confirm he opened for Aerosmith in 2010.

Maria Conchita Alonso

María Concepción Alonso Bustillo (born 29 June 1957 in Cienfuegos, Cuba), better known as María Conchita Alonso, is a singer, actress and former beauty queen.

I know Maria best for her acting career. She made her Hollywood film debut in Moscow on the Hudson (1984) with Robin Williams, and also starred in Touch and Go (1986) Extreme Prejudice (1987), The Running Man (1987), Colors (1988), Vampire's Kiss (1989), Predator 2 (1990) and The House of the Spirits (1993).

Maria does not do many signings so I was excited when Evolve Private Signings announced they had organised a signing in April 2021. It was not an entirely positive experience. After some delays I eventually received my autographs in December 2021. Unfortunately my name was misspelt on the Running Man photo and it looks like she 'fixed' the spelling on the other two. The character name on the Colors photo is also smudged. Nevertheless I am happy I have been able to add Maria to my collection.

Our Disappearing Planet organised a private signing with Mr Cribbins and I ordered a personalised Fawlty Towers photo back in August 2020. Unfortunately Mr Cribbins signed and personalised a Dr Who photo for me instead of the one I had requested. As I had already waited five or six months for it, I agreed with Our Disappearing Planet to just sent me the personalised Dr Who photo and one of the Fawlty Towers ones they had in stock.
