Bill Conti

William Conti (born 13 April 1942 in Providence, Rhode Island, USA) is an American composer and conductor best known for his film scores. These include Rocky (1976) and four of its sequels, the James Bond film For Your Eyes Only (1981), the 1980s hit television series Dynasty, and The Right Stuff (1985). The latter earned him an Academy Award for Best Original Score. He also received nominations in the Best Original Song category for "Gonna Fly Now" from Rocky and for the title song of For Your Eyes Only, which was sung by Sheena Easton. He was the musical director at the Academy Awards a record nineteen times.

Conti composed the score of ten Sylvester Stallone films. In addition to five of the Rocky films the following productions have a Bill Conti score: F.I.S.T. (1978), Paradise Alley (1978), Victory (known as Escape to Victory in the UK and other territories) (1981), Lock Up (1989) and Avenging Angelo (2002).

Other favourites of mine include The Karate Kid (1984), the TV series North & South (1985), Masters of the Universe (1987) and Inferno (known as Desert Heat in Europe)(1999).
