Tony Burton

Anthony Mabron "Tony" Burton (born 23 March 1937 in Flint, Michigan, USA; died 25 February 2016 in Menifee, California, USA) was an American actor, boxer, and football player. I knew him for his role as Tony "Duke" Evers in the first six Rocky films (1976-2006).

He also had parts in a number of other notable films including John Carpenter's Assault on Precinct 13 (1976), Stanley Kubrick's The Shining (1980), Stir Crazy (1980), The Toy (1982), Armed and Dangerous (1986), House Party 2 (1991), Spielberg's Hook (1991) and the Stallone film Shade (2003).

Mr Burton passed away at the age of 78 from complications of pneumonia. Only one or two months prior I had purchased his autograph from The Philadelphia Connection Store.

Burt Young

Gerald Tommaso DeLouise (born 30 April 1940 in Queens, New York, USA; died 8 October 2023 in Los Angeles, California, USA), better known by his stage name Burt Young, was an American actor, author and painter. He was best known for his role as Rocky Balboa's brother-in-law and best friend Paulie Pennino in the Rocky film series (1976-2006).

Other notable films include Chinatown (1974), Convoy (1978), Amityville II: The Possession (1982), Once Upon a Time in America (1984), Back to School (1986), and Last Exit to Brooklyn (1990).

In March 2019 I met Burt at Comic Con Liverpool where he signed the Rocky IV poster. The autographs on the two Rocky Balboa photos were obtained through the mail in January 2015.

Michael Talbott

Michael Talbott (born 2 February 1955 in Waverly, Iowa, USA) is an American actor. He is best known for his co-starring role as Det. Stanley Switek in the television series Miami Vice (1984-89). He also played a bully named Freddy in the Stephen King adaptation Carrie (1976) and Deputy Balford in First Blood (1982).

I obtained Michael's autograph through the mail.

Vernon Wells

Vernon George Wells (born 31 December 1945 in Rushworth, Victoria, Australia) is an Australian actor. He is best known to international audiences for his role of Wez in the 1981 science fiction action film Mad Max 2 (1981) and Bennett in the action film Commando (1985) starring Arnold Schwarzenegger, an 80s favourite of mine. Wells also appeared in the John Hughes directed fantasy comedy Weird Science (1985) and Joe Dante's science fiction comedy Innerspace (1987).

I met Vernon at Film & Comic Con Newcastle in March 2016.

Ricco Ross

Ricco Ross (born 16 April 1958 in Chicago, Illinois, USA) is an American actor who is probably best known for his role as Private Ricco Frost in the film Aliens (1986). He also appeared in the Cannon cult classic Death Wish 3 (1985). Other credits include Spies Like Us (1985), Gulliver's Travels (1996), Mission Impossible (1996), Fierce Creatures (1997), Nate and the Colonel (2003) and Hydra (2009).

I met Ricco at Film & Comic Con Newcastle in March 2016.

Brian Dennehy

Brian Manion Dennehy (born 9 July 1938 in Bridgeport, Connecticut, USA; died 15 April 2020 in New Haven, Connecticut, USA) was an American actor of film, stage, and television. One of his most memorable roles was probably that of Sheriff Will Teasle in First Blood (1982) starring Sylvester Stallone as Rambo. A few years prior he had appeared in another Stallone film, F.I.S.T. (1978).

Other films I know him from include Cocoon (1985) and Cocoon: The Return (1988), F/X (1986) and F/X2 (1991), Blue Heat (1990), Presumed Innocent (1990), the boxing drama Gladiator (1992), Romeo + Juliet (1996), and the 2005 remake of Assault on Precinct 13. Dennehy won the Golden Globe Award for Best Actor in a Miniseries or Television Film for his role as Willy Loman in the television film Death of a Salesman (2000).

Edward Furlong

Edward Walter Furlong (born 2 August 1977 in Glendale, California, USA) is an American actor. He became famous after his performance as John Connor in Terminator 2: Judgment Day, the highest-grossing film of 1991. He also starred in Pet Sematary Two (1992) and alongside Edward Norton in American History X (1998).

I met Edward at the Entertainment Media Show in London in October 2011.
